This is AMAZING!! I heard Lux Arumque for the first time on Tuesday night - at the local high school's band performance of it. His intent was *EXACTLY* what happened!!!! To Me!!! The Golden Brick: "teaching the audience when and how to breathe" - that is literally what happened. I leaned forward and started breathing differently. I actually did notice the shift palpably. I felt myself descending into a more peaceful place. I have been listening to this composition (for band mostly, but also choral arrangement) ever since. And have been sharing it - and describing and explaining to others that my breath evolved into "Yoga Breathing" (described humorously). Whitacre did exactly what he intended to do with this piece. Amazing.

Really strange how they aspirate the Ts and Ps, since just as Estonian, Swiss German wouldn't do that. Maybe something psychological that happens in our Swiss heads when we read text of a sheet? Sounds like they tried to sing with a German accent. :)
